Guy Morse, Injured in Fall

Guy Morse, the Executive Director of the BAA Boston Marathon, was injured in a fall last week. We received this press release this morning and felt that the many admirers of Guy would like to know about his condition.

Guy has been the steward of the modern Boston Marathon for two decades. A man of character and immense endurance, he has weathered the early steps of the Boston Marathon into the professional marathon arena, to championing the World Major Marathons developments.

We wish Guy a speedy recovery and our thoughts and prayers continue to go to him as he maintains his treatment for prostate cancer.

THIS EMAIL NOTIFICATION IS BEING SENT TO CONTACTS OF THE BOSTON ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION.

B.A.A. Executive Director Guy Morse was injured in a fall on Friday, February 1, requiring bilateral quadriceps surgery to repair ruptured tendons in both legs.

His recovery will take several weeks, and he has elected to maintain an aggressive treatment program for prostate cancer while he rehabilitates from the surgery.

Currently, he is rehabilitating at an in-patient center in Boston, and will likely move to an out-patient residence later this week. Resuming daily mobility will likely not occur until late March.

Morse expects a full recovery eventually, and he plans to continue his work and responsibilities for the Boston Athletic Association during this period.

Letters and correspondence can be sent to Guy's attention at the Boston Athletic Association:
