Global News Flash, Francis beats Chambers, 10.03 to 10.05, by Alfons Juck, Notes by Larry Eder

The same day Dwight Chambers' case is being heard in London, he is beat in a 100 meter sprint in Sofia, Bulgaria. Chambers has a suit to force the British Olympic Committee to force Uk athletics to allow Chambers to attempt to qualify for the Beijing Games. UK athletics has made it known that they, in no way will tolerate drug positives on their respective teams, much less an Olympic Games.

Francis beats Chambers 10.03 and 10.05
SOFIA (BUL, June 30): At second annual of International "Pavel Pavlov" Meet in Sofia´s National Stadium today before some 5000 spectators fast 100 m were registered. Asian record holder Samuel Francis of Qatar clocked 10.03 and British Dwain Chambers 10.05, his fastest since 2001. In hot summer weather (around 30 degrees) the wind speed was +0.6. Third home sprinter Desislav Gunev got 10.33. Inna Eftimova won both women sprints with 11.27 and 22.94. Momchil Karailiev improved in men´s triple jump to third best Bulgarian ever 17.38 m. Other home throwing improvements by Shot Putter Georgi Ivanov (20.02) and female discus thrower Venera Getova
