2008 Bank of America Chicago Marathon Live Coverage, update 1

Good morning. It is four minutes to the start. The weather is 65 degrees, and 70 percent humidity. With 37,000 packet pick ups, 35,200 picked up their chips, we are expecting 34,500 to get to the starting line.

As I walked to the Media center, the crowds were heading to the start. The Bank of America Chicago Marathon, now in its thirty-first year, is now off. There are two
pace makers, who are to take the leaders through 1:02.45. The conditions are superb for elite racers, and we shall keep you updated.

At this time, I suggest checking out Mr. Fujiwara, who has run two marathons, a 2:38 and a 2:08. On the women's side, Ms. Dita, the Olympic winner, is back for a tough fall double.

First mile for males is 4:51 for the first mile, a two hours, seven minute pace. First mile split for the women was six minutes, five seconds. All fifteen women were together. For the men, a mile in 4:50 for the second.
