Mike Rodgers and Darvis Patton screamed down the track, running 9.91-9.92, as
Rodgers got the nod.

Mike Rodgers is the little sprinter that could. In Valencia, he did not win the indoor title, and some suggested that as a sprinter on the shorter side, perhaps he just could not take that step.

Au contraire, mes amis. Mike Rodgers has dominated sprinting this year. In New York, he took the field, including Asafa Powell, and at Pre, he just dominated everyone again.

In Eugene, Oregon, it was Mike Rodgers and Darvis Patton. Tyson Gay, who had run 9.75 in the first round, did not compete. Mike got off to a good start, but, as is his style, ran the race hard to the finish, not giving up an inch, which is about all the guy had over Patton.

How will he fare in Berlin? With Tyson Gay, Mike Rodgers, Darvis Patton and Monzavious Edwards, the US has a very strong team. Rodgers has a strong chance to medal in Berlin, and we wish him well.
