Minneapolis/St. Paul – April 11, 2011 – Team USA Minnesota’s Jason
Lehmkuhle will be among a deep field of international competitors at
the 2011 Virgin London Marathon on Sunday, April 17. The elite men’s race
starts at 9:45 a.m. (elite women at 9:00 a.m.) followed by some 50,000
runners.

Lehmkuhle is seeking a fast time on the flat course that goes by London
landmarks and ends at Buckingham Palace. He has a best in the marathon of
2:12:24 which he set at Boston in 2010 when he finished ninth overall. “I
wanted to get on a course that gave me the best chance to run in the 2:10 to
2:11 range and something that would more closely simulate the flatish course
that the 2012 U.S. Trials will be run on,” Lehmkuhle told Down the Backstretch
earlier this month.

finished fifth in the 2007 U.S. Olympic Men’s Marathon Trials and ninth in the
2004 Marathon Trials. He plans to compete in the 2012 U.S. Olympic Men’s
Marathon Trials, which will be held next January in Houston.

addition to the field and was able to join Gabrielson at the starting line on
Sunday. Almost 8,000 runners finished the race which is known as the
country’s premier 10k run and is the site of the Irish 10k National
Championships.
