GENZEBE OVER 2 MILES
BIRMINGHAM (GBR): The Sainbury´s Indoor Grand Prix on February 15 in Birmingham (IAAF Indoor Permit) will feature a host of top athletes in one of the best line-ups of the current indoor season. After setting World records over 1500 m and 3000 m, Genzebe Dibaba could add the 2 mile record to her collection. The world best is 9:06.26 by Meseret Defar in Praha, 2009. The men’s 60 m sees the return of last year’s champion Michael Rodgers. He will be up against all three British indoor medallists led by James Dasaolu and the strong French pair of Jimmy Vicaut and Christophe Lemaître. The startlist also boasts Nesta Carter and Kim Collins. Last year, Murielle Ahoure clocked 6.99 to win making her the 7th fastest performer of all-time. She returns this year as the World leader and will face IAAF Athlete of the Year Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce (2nd here last year), British champion and World number 2 this year Asha Philip and on form British junior Dina Asher Smith. Other events to be previewed in next days.
