Blanka Vlasic is one of the greatest women high jumpers in history. Coming back from injuries has been nearly three years of challenges. Returns to elite levels come in parts, not equal parts. Blanka Vlasic did not compete in the Europeans, due to a knee injury. As the knee injury has shown progress, she will competing in the Weltklasse on 28 August 2014.
Vlasic was overjoyed to hit 2.00 meters this season. Can she go higher? We shall have to see!

ZURICH (SUI): Croatian high jump star Blanka Vlasic has announced that she will compete at the Weltklasse Zurich Diamond League on Thursday. The 30 year old, two time World and World Indoor champion, had to pull out of the European Championships with a knee injury. Vlasic won the women’s high jump at the Weltklasse meet in 2007, 2008 and 2009. She will face the full European Champs podium (Beitia, Kuchina, Simic).
