DOHA (QAT): World and Olympic medallist Mutaz Essa Barshim has said that he will compete sparingly on the 2016 Diamond League Circuit in order to prepare for Rio 2016, report The Peninsula. "I don't think I will be competing in every Diamond League, may be in one or two," said the 24 year old world indoor champion. "My main focus will be for Olympics that's the key I think." He believes that this year he got too tired from extensive travelling and he doesn't plan on making the same mistake. Barshim will do most of his training in Poland (where his coach Stanislaw Szczyrba is from) and he may also train in Sweden, as well as at home in Doha.

Editor's Note: Last winter and summer, we watched Mutaz Essa Barshim travel and jump everywhere. Mid season, Mutaz just slowed down. So, in 2016, one of our favorite jumpers is focusing on training for RIO and keeping the travel and jumping under control.
