BELGRADE (SRB): In total 6 men and 4 women will try to defend their titles from Prague 02 Arena 2015 in Kombank Arena of Belgrade in 2017. They are Richard Kilty in the 60 m, Pavel Maslak in the 400 m, Ali Kaya in the 3000 m, Pascal Martinot-Lagarde in the hurdles, Michel Torneus in long jump, Nelson Evora in triple jump and David Storl in shot put. On the women side Selina Buchel in the 800 m, Alina Talay over 60 m hurdles, Ivana Spanovic in long jump and Anita Marton in shot put. Also competing in other events are Marcin Lewandowski (won 800 m in 2015, now runs the 1500 m) and Katarina Johnson-Thompson (won pentathlon, now in long jump). Also both winning teams in the 4x400 m are competing, Belgium men and French women.

RunBlogRun opines: One of the amazing things about European Indoors is that at least a few young athletes will use this event to remind the world that new stars are always emerging. Who will it be in 2017? It is also the place where veterans remind us that spirit and muscle memory are pretty potent talents in championships.
