PRETORIA (RSA): The top six placed athletes from Rio Long jump final will be competing on Saturday headed by current World leader and main favorite Luvo Manyonga from South Africa. He is the trendsetter, having jumped 862 and 865 already this season and he is also the first athlete to jump further than 860 since 2009. In the field from USA also Olympic winner Jeff Henderson and fourth placer Jarrion Lawson.
SYDNEY (AUS): Five Australians will be competing in Shanghai including in-form Fabrice Lapierre who won the long jump competition last year. Olympic semi-finalist sprinter Morgan Mitchell will line up in a world-class 400m race against five women who have broken the 50-second barrier in their careers. Also there Dani Stevens in discus and Linden Hall with Jenny Blundell in the 1500 m.
SHANGHAI (CHN): After clashing with Dafne Schippers in Doha Jamaican Elaine Thompson will face another Olympic medalist in Shanghai. Her duel with Tori Bowie in the 100 m could be one of the highlights of the meet. All sprinters in the race have sub 11 personal best. The other Jamaicans are Veronica Campbell-Brown and Christania Williams, other US sprinters Morolake Akinosun and Tianna Bartoletta. Also two sprinters from Africa Murielle Ahoure and Marie-Josee Ta Lou both from Ivory Coast. The last (the track has 9 lanes) is Michelle-Lee Ahye of Trinidad and Tobago.
