BELLINZONA (SUI, Jul 18): Huge national record and World leading 71.41 in discus by Olympic winner Sandra Perkovic highlighted the Galà dei Castelli meet. In her series she also had one more 70+ throw in last one 70.05, record came in second round. It is also best discus throw result since 1992. European medalist Mujinga Kambundji equaled her Swiss 100 m record with 11.07 (0.0) clearly beating Jamaican Natasha Morrison 11.22. Lea Sprunger was attacking the 400 m mark with 51.68 over Anneisha McLaughlin 51.69. Selina Buchel achieved another top home win in the 800 m 1:59.85 over Norway´s Hedda Hynne 2:00.14 and Italian Yusneysi Santiusti 2:00.17 with US junior star Sammy Watson 2:00.65 PB as fourth. Another home star Kariem Hussein was beaten at 400 m hurdles (49.42) only by Bershawn Jackson 49.28. Top marks in hurdles, Aries Merritt 13.20 (-0.6) and Jasmin Stowers 12.79 (+1.2). London Olympic winner Brittney Reese won close long jump 664 (+0.2) over Darya Klishina 662 (0.0) and German Sosthene Moguenara 660 (0.0). Also to note Mike Rodgers 10.11 (0.0) in the 100 m with Jak Ali Harvey 10.12 (0.0) in other race, Cornelius Kangogo 13:21.26 in the 5000 m and Job Kinyor 1:45.17 in the 800 m over Marcin Lewandowski 1:45.44. US Mason Finley with 65.48 beat in men discus Christoph Harting 63.34.
