Lisek beats Kendricks
COTTBUS (GER, Jan 31): Pole Vault World champion 2017 Sam Kendricks lost for first time since September 3, 2016. That was after 17 wins in a row. He cleared good 578 in his season opener at Springer Meeting in Cottbus before 2000 spectators. But European Indoor champion Piotr Lisek was better with 583. Kendricks after one foul at 583 tried twice at 588. World Indoor champion 2014 Konstadinos Filippidis was third 573 and Pawel Wojciechowski fourth 560. 2015 World champion Shawn Barber jumped 550 for 6th position. London silver winner Yulia Levchenko dominated women high jump clearly. As only one she jumped 194 and 197 (equaled her indoor PB) and had very good tries at two meters. Second Ana Simic 191 and third best German Marie-Laurence Jungfleisch 188.
