WEINHEIM (GER, May 26): The long jump took centre stage at the Kuprfalz Gala in Weinheim. Malaika Mihambo added four centimetres to her best with 6.99 World lead (+0.6) to beat Sosthene Moguenara (6.84 +1.6). The men’s event saw a 27cm improvement for Stephan Hartmann as he leaped 8.20m (+0.5). The distance was shared by second-placed Julian Howard, who also set a PB 820 (+0.3). The third German over 8m was Itua Enohoro (8.01 +0.6) with Swiss Benjamin Gfohler 800 (0.0). Other winners was Gregor Traber in the 110m hurdles with 13.38 (+1.0), Britain’s Ojie Edoburun with 10.35 (-0.1) in the 100m and Tatjana Pinto, who sprinted to a 11.24 (-1.2) and 22.84 (+0.1) double. Franziska Hofmann (13.10 in the 100m hurdles) and Viktoria Gottlieb (1.90m) in the long jump were also of note.
