BOSTON (USA): World record holder David Rudisha will most probably not run until August. His agent Michel Boeting confirmed for letsrun.com. He is currently dealing with an injury to his upper hamstring muscle. In his plan Tokyo 2020 Games are playing an important part.
RunBlogRun opines: Rumor of Rudisha not racing due to injuries or lack of fitness is correct. His long term desire to race through Tokyo 2020 supports a light approach to 2018. If anyone can win three Olympic medals, much less, gold medals in the 800 meters, it is David Rudisha. But, Mr. Rudisha will have to be very fit to handle the rigors of the rounds and the high quality of racers that abound in the event. Rudisha’s win in 2012 was mind boggling, but his 2016 win was, well, crafty. His sense of tactics, and his abilty to run freely over the last 300 meters was unforgettable.
