The 2020 Olympic Trials did not go well for Jordan Hasay. Dealing with injuries, and the pressure of personal attacks on her former coach, all added to the pressure. Battling injuries since 2018, Jordan had run 2:23.00 at Boston 2017 (3rd) and 2:20.57 in Chicago 2017 (3rd), and then the injury bug hit.
Recovering from Atlanta, Jordan Hasay sent a note to Jeff Benjamin on how to keep it together during this difficult time.

“Right when we got on lockdown I started running a bit (took 3 week break) so I can go outside to run alone (which I prefer anyways). I’m running only every few days though since I just had my break so I’m doing a lot of rowing (shout-out to Hydrow! Check it out if you need a home rower) and gym stuff. I am trying to spend the extra time to pray/mediate/do something special for others.
My advice to youngsters who have had their season canceled is to stay positive l! This is an opportunity to take a “productive pause” is what I’m calling it and work on any areas of weaknesses 💪😊 enjoy the flexibility of not having a competition schedule to really listen to your body and go easy when you need to back off but also don’t feel limited to push if you are feeling good and having fun with it!”
