Miller-Uibo 50.52 and 22.61 World leads
MONTVERDE (USA, July 4): Olympic winner Shaunae Miller-Uibo clocked two World leads at one of the first meets in US, the Showdown in Otown. First she won the 400 m in 50.52 ahead of Kaylin Whitney 51.99 PB, followed by 22.61 (-1.1) in the 200 m ahead of Lynna Irby 23.06 and Shakari Richardson 23.14. In the 100 m WL for Richardson 11.05 (+0.5, in heats windy 10.94 +2.8) beating Hannah Cunliffe 11.14. World 200m champion Noah Lyles won his heat of the 100m in a wind-assisted 9.93 (+4.0). Justin Gatlin was second with 9.99. While neither competed in the final, Kenny Bednarek won that with 10.14 (+0.6) a PB (earlier first PB in heats 10.23) and later set a world lead in winning the 200m in 20.06 (+1.9) ahead of Josephus Lyles 20.41 PB. In the 100 m second Canadian double Olympic medalist Andre De Grasse 10.17 (10.16 in heats) over Aaron Brown 10.20. Other winners include Isaiah Young 10.20 (0.0) and Briton Adam Gemili 10.39 (-0.1). But the fastest legal time of the day was achieved by Trayvon Bromell 10.04 (+1.6) in heats, his fastest since 2016. British win for Matthew Hudson-Smith 45.55 just edging Alejandro Perlaza of Colombia 45.56. Third Olympic winner LaShawn Merritt 45.98 and fourth Nigerian Divine Oduduru 47.35 PB. Triple star Christian Taylor competed alone 16.75 (+1.3) and also clocked 10.76 in the 100 m.
