Conversations with Larry: The 2016 Berlin Marathon

The Berlin Marathon, held on September 25, 2016, was a race for the ages. After the pace makers fell off, it came down to Wilson Kipsang, former WR holder and Kenenisa Bekele, world record holder for 5000 meters and 10,000 meters. With less than 2.2 kilometers to go, Bekele and Kipsang were together, until Bekele put a few meters separation at 25 miles. Watching Bekele over the last kilometer, Kenenisa tried gamely to get the record, and he just missed it by seven seconds. Here is how I spoke about the race, in Conversations with Larry.
