The story behind the story in the 200 meters was Dafne Schippers return to the 200 meters, better her form from 2016, and take out Marie-Jose Ta Lou, who was the revelation of the women's sprints in 2017. Marie-Jose Ta Lou, from the Cote d'Ivoire, is proud of her country and proud to be an African sprinter and train in Africa (Dakar, Senegal).

Shaunae Miller-Uibo had a masterful turn and last 50 meters, and ran herself into the bronze medal, after an exhausting and emotionally draining 400 meters. Watch this video if you are a 200 meter runner. You are watching three of the finest women sprinters in the world!
