Geoffrey Kamworor won his fifth World Championship title in five years. Two were cross country titles and three were for the world half marathon. Kamworor is an amazing athlete, with wonderful spirit, drive and focus. He battled Mo Farah in 2015 on the track in Beijing, and took silver over 10,000 meters. HIs win in NYC Marathon in 2017 was gutty.

Watch this amazing athlete. He has more medals to come!

Today, NN Running Team member Geoffrey Kamworor became the second man in history to win a hat-trick of World Half Marathon Championships. The Kenyan crossed the line in Valencia after 60:02, finishing ahead of Abraham Cheroben and Aron Kifle. Geoffrey started in the pack and later moved to the front. He made his move by accelerating around 15km and shaking off his competitors. He won with an impressive 20 sec lead.

Geoffrey Kamworor, known as "a man for all surfaces", secured the 2014 and the 2016 World Half Marathon titles, won the 2015 and 2017 World Cross Country Champions and is the 2017 TCS New York City Marathon champion. "I think my ability to focus during the major championships is a gift. Another reason is my self-discipline, which has added real value to my career."
Geoffrey has high ambitions for the future. "The world half is a special competition and I would like to go on to win as many as possible."

The Kenyan trains and lives in Kaptagat, Kenya, where he trains alongside a world-class group of athletes led by Eliud Kipchoge, coached by Patrick Sang.

NN Running Team athletes Zeineba Yimber (Ethiopia) and Desi Jisa (Bahrain) finished respectively in fifth and seventh position in the women's race. Romanian Ancuta Bobocel was the second European to cross the finish line in 15th position.
