2020 Virgin Money London Marathon | Kings Crossing (Documentary), Who will reign in London? Eliud Kipchoge or Kenenisa Bekele?, by NN running team

The upcoming iconic marathon battle in London could be amazing. 19 plus laps around Saint James Park. We will be able to see the marathon build up.

How big is this event?

Eliud Kipchoge, the zen master of marathon, has come up through the ranks of the sport, and is a prime example of how an athlete can develop all of his skills. Please recall, Eliud Kipchoge had a challenging time, a couple years, as he developed into a marathon champion. Kipchoge won the 5000m gold medal in Paris 2003, at the age of 18! Eliud Kipchoge has battled the best on the track, cross country courses, and the roads. Eliud Kipchoge does not show up if he is not ready.

Kenenisa Bekele has held world records at 5,000m and 10,000m (still does at 10,000m). He wants to hold the marathon record. Most of all, Kenenisa wants to win in 2020 London. He has developed a begrudging respect for the distance. I was in Paris in 2014 when Kenenisa debuted, running 2:05.04. He did not get the marathon in 2014, he did not respect the marathon. Now, he does. And now, he is ready to race.

Kipchoge and Bekele could be together the entire distance, until the last 385 yards.

How epic is this race?

I think that this event could be as historic as the mile races in the 1940s between Gunder Haag and Arne Andersen.

Stay up, watch the event on October 4, 2020. It will be amazing!
