I really admire the European Athetics Association. They have reached out to young track fans quite well, and they are championing doping education, coaching education and great social media and video.

It was great to see Brooks sponsor the European Championships in 2016. The good work that the association does for the sport across Europe needs support!

Congrats to Svein Arne Hansen on his efforts to bring a new approach to doping eduction and sports and ethics in his European partners.

European Athletics President Svein Arne Hansen and IAAF President Sebastian Coe will lead the conference with a discussion entitled “What is Next for Athletics” on the Saturday morning.

President Hansen said: “I look forward to discussing important issues regarding the future of our sport with leaders of the European Athletics Member Federations.

“This CEO Conference will help in our mission to communicate our clear and strong ‘Your Sport for Life’ strategy in order to build the brand of athletics and European Athletics in the years to come.”

Vice President Jean Gracia will welcome the European Athletics Member Federation Presidents and General Secretaries on Friday with a talk on building strategy for success.

Jon Tibbs will then deliver a keynote presentation entitled “From the Brand Upwards: Rebuilding Athletics.”

Brian Minikin, Teaching Fellow at the University of Sterling, will discuss governance and the values of sport and the impact of the brand image.

General Director of Amsterdam 2016 Rien Van Haperen will update Members on the preparations for the European Athletics Championships with less than three months until the start of the event.

European Athletics Council member and Chairman of European Athletics Marketing AG, Libor Varhanik will present a new project, Brand Building Through Innovation.

Vice President Dobromir Karamarinov will explain the role of strategic communications in brand building and describe the findings of the newly created Strategic Communications Commissions which met last weekend.

Charlie Greenwood and Mike Lawrence from LiveWire Sport will then give an overview of digital strategy for sports organisations and focus on the promotional campaign that will be launched for the upcoming Amsterdam 2016 European Athletics Championships.

The Conference concludes with a presentation on Perspectives on Communications in Sport by Eline Anderson, senior communication manager at Sport Event Denmark.

President Hansen will then make the final address to the Member Federation leaders.
