2025 USATF outdoors, Day 1, July 31, 2025, Field Event, Multi-event finals
A bit warm and sunny in Eugene. Some impressive performances, in multi-events, and some clutch performances as well, read on dear readers!
Heptathlon, day one
Anna Hall, adidas, leads the heptathlon after day 1 with a score of 4,097. Anna hurdled 13.12 for 1,106 points, high jumped 1.90m for 1,106 points, and threw the shot 15.02m for 862 points. Anna Hall finished day 1 with the 200 meters in 23.56, for 1,023 points. Anna Hall won the high jump, shot put, and 200 meters. Taliyah Brooks, ASICS, is second with 3,898 points. Allie Jones is third with 3539 points.

Decathlon, day one
Kyle Garland, NIKE, leads the decathlon at the end of day 1. His first day of events has been tremendous. 10.44 for the 100m, 1,033 points, Long Jump in 7.89m, in 1,033 points, Shot Put in 16.95m for 910 points, High Jump in whopping 2.14m in 934 points, and 400m in 49.29 for 848 points, day 1 total of 4,714. Heath Baldwin was second in 4,377 points, Austin West was 3rd in 4,352 points and Zach Ziemek was 4th in 4,341 points.

Men’s Javelin final.
Curtis Thompson, Tracksmith/NYAC, connected, on his fourth throw, with 83.89m. Truth is, any of Curtis’ throws would have won. Dash Sirmon, was second in 77.28m. Mark Anthony Minechello was third in 76.81m.

Women’s hammer Final
DeAnna Price, NIKE, opened in 78.33m with a very dominating hammer throw. Brooke Anderson, NIKE was second in 75.14m, from her third attempt and Rachel Richeson took third by 2 centimeters (74.57) to Janee Kassanavoid, Eugene WC medalist, who threw 74.55m!

Women’s javelin
Evie Bliss, Bucknell, won the javelin with her third attempt, in 57.77m. Madison Wiltrout took second in 56.46m, her very last attempt! Sarah Blake was third in 55.80m.
Men’s Hammer Throw Final
Rudy Winkler, NYAC, is a Beastmaster. His throw of 81.47m was the winner by nearly 3 meters! Trey Knight threw a PB of 78.76m, qualifying for the Worlds, and Daniel Haugh, in third, went 77.28m, also moving to the Worlds!

Women’s Long Jump Final
Tara Davis-Woodhall , NIKE, had two straight fouls in the Long Jump. Then, she went 6.92m, moving from anxiety to second, 7.11m, and then, the coup de grace was 7.12 meters! Claire Bryant, adidas, the World Indoor champ, continues to impress, and leaped 6.97m, and Quanesha Burks, FP Movement, finished third in 6.90m. Alyssa Jones was 4th in 6.90 on jump backs.
Tara Davis-Woodhall (USA) wins the Women’s Long Jump with a jump of 7.05 to tie the Meeting Record at the BAUHAUS-Galan in Stockholm, part of the Wanda Diamond League, on Sunday 15 June 2025.
