Top throwers for Doha
DOHA (QAT): World champions Piotr Malachowski, Christina Schwanitz and Katharina Molitor are among the newest recruits for the Doha Diamond League on 6 May. The three discus medallists from the World Championships will be in action with Malachowski taking on silver and bronze medallists Philip Milanov and Robert Urbanek while Schwanitz is set to go head-to-head with world indoor champion Michelle Carter in the shot put. Molitor faces Sunette Viljoen and Martina Ratej in the javelin. The organisers have also assembled a classy field in the pole vault: Ekaterini Stefanidi, Nikoleta Kyriakopoulou, Sandi Morris, Silke Spiegelburg, Nicole Buchler and Li Ling have been confirmed. Elsewhere, world indoor champion Yolimar Rojas has been added to the triple jump field where she will face Olympic champion Olga Rypakova and world champion Caterine Ibarguen while Orlando Ortega has been added to the field for the 110m hurdles.
