Filmed in Las Vegas, NV Special thank you to Global Athletics for helping set up this interview.
Hobbs Kessler is “the future of middle distance running” says some fans and media. Hobbs is a talented young athlete, who made the 2024 US Olympic team at the 800m and 1,500m after winning the 2024 World Indoor bronze medal at the 1,500 meters.
At the 2025 US Indoors, Hobbs Kessler not only won his first US title, in the 3,000m, but doubled his wins with a win over the 1,500 meters. Hobbs looked poised for the Outdoors.

In the 2025 U.S. Outdoors, Hobbs finished fourth in the 2025 U.S. championships at 1,500 meters, in a clear upset. Hobbs went to Europe to race post Eugene and had some highs and lows. That, dear viewers is part of the athletic journey. It is never in a straight line. Hobbs changed a bit up in the last year in his training, no longer working with Ron Warhurst, and moving to another program.
This interview was done in November 2024, after the Paris Olympics, in Las Vegas, Nevada, as part of the Global Athletics and Marketing Athletes Conference.
Hobbs Kessler is one of our sport’s most talented young milers. Hobbs found out in Eugene that there are many milers gunning for three positions in the U.S. team. This observer believes that Hobbs will take those lessons to heart and be ready for the challenges of 2026.
