The MOWA is a very innovative digital museum with brick and mortar appearances at the major World Championships. The MOWA museum is championed by our friend of the sport, Chris Turner, who knows more about Finland athletics than many will ever know!

ASICS Gallery updated
Dear friends of MOWA,
12 September 2025 – The ASICS gallery in the Museum of World Athletics (MOWA) has been updated today to mark tomorrow’s opening of the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 25.
The MOWA and the Heritage Department of World Athletics have been honoured since 2022 to host ASICS in our unique 3D online museum platform.
Today’s changes see the history of ASICS brought up to date, and the Tokyo apparel of the Japanese and the Netherlands teams added in 3D.
The entrance to ASICS’s gallery is immediately to the left as you enter the Entrance Hall of MOWA, or alternatively you can use the dropdown menu (top left of the screen), where you’ll find the access link at the foot of the list: “ASICS & Onitsuka Tiger”
On Tuesday 16 September @ 1500h (3pm), World Athletics President Sebastian Coe, 1980 & 1984 Olympic 1500m champion, will host a donation ceremony at the MOWA Heritage Exhibition in Tokyo.
Eight world or Olympic champions, a Boston Marathon winner and a world record breaking race walker will donate their competition clothing, shoes and equipment to the collection of the Museum of World Athletics during the ceremony.
