Bernard Lagat, gold medalist from 2007 Osaka, 1,500 meters and 5,000 meters, wrote “Matumbo” on the side of his white NIKE racing shoes. This explains the “Matumbo” and the whole on the back of NIKE track spikes, which Bernard Lagat called it the “Matumbo hole”!
Larry Eder has had a 52-year involvement in the sport of athletics. Larry has experienced the sport as an athlete, coach, magazine publisher, and now, journalist and blogger.
