#CoffeeWithLarry, Episode 813, November 6, 2025, NYCM Review part 2/4
This is my daily chat with #RunBlogRun viewers and track fans on all things track & field!
1. Furnished Quarters. www.FurnishedQuarters.com specializes in corporate stays of 30 days or more in major cities worldwide. You can learn more at www.furnishedquarters.com. Please note that they have opportunities at major marathons worldwide. Furnished Quarters is the sponsor of RunBlogRun and our partner sites as we cover the NYC Marathon from October 15-November 20!

2. The New York City Marathon was record-setting in 2025 with 59,226 finishers! When I ran NYC in 1985, there were about 7,500 finishers.
3. The Race through Five Boroughs began in 1976 to celebrate the Bicentennial. It was only supposed to happen once. Fred Lebow just convinced the Boroughs to continue it, but how is not really clear. I think that it was the best sales job in marathon history!

4. Brooks Running. Brooks Running was established in 1914. Brooks makes great running products, including shoes for running, racing, and sports apparel. You can find more at www.brooksrunning.com. Brooks has sponsored #AmericanAthletics, #AmericanTrackandField, #Runningnetwork, and #RunBlogRun since 1990! Please support the brands that support our sport. Check out our newsletter, #BrooksonRunning, which can be found at www.coachingathleticsq.com and www.runblogrun.com.

5. 132 countries had runners in the NYC Marathon, all 50 states, plus D.C., Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Guam were also represented. I love that so many athletes (18,000 plus) come from outside of the U.S.
6. Verily Storyworks. Verily Storyworks is developing a three-season drama on Jim Thorpe and the challenges he faced in his life. Learn more at www.VerilyStoryworks.com, and know that their funding page on Republic.com begins November 5!

7. In 2025, marathoners were treated to nearly perfect marathon conditions in New York: nice and cool in the morning and cool most of the day!
8. NIKE has returned to the sport by sponsoring #RunBlogRun and the #runningnetwork partners. NIKE and #RunBlogRun are collaborating on a newsletter, #TheJourneytoCompete, celebrating cross country and the NIKECrossNationals.com. Find the newsletter at www.runblogrun.com, www.runningnetwork.com and NIKE at www.nikerunning.com

Of RunBlogRun, his daily pilgrimage with the sport, Larry says: "I have to admit, I love traveling to far away meets, writing about the sport I love, and the athletes I respect, for my readers at runblogrun.com, the most of anything I have ever done, except, maybe running itself."
