The 25th anniversary of the Dubai Marathon is just about here. The race will happen in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on February 1, 2026, starting at 5:45 AM local time (which means 8:45 PM in New York, 7:45 PM in Chicago and 5:45 PM in San Francisco, on January 31, 2026).
The broadcast is being prepared in Ahmaric and English for the Ethiopian National TV, in Arabic for the Arabic-speaking countries, English, and Mandarin Chinese.

Pat Butcher, Tim Hutchings and Paula Radcliffe will be doing the commentating in English for the elite men’s and womens’ races on Sunday. Pat Butcher is a respected journalist, who wrote, most recently, Quicksilver, the story of the mercurial Emil Zatopek, and a monograph on Alain Mimoun, who finished second to Emil Zatopek, most of his career, until he won the Olympic marathaon in 1956 Melbourne. Tim Hutchings is the well-respected TV commentator, as well as 4th place in the Olympic 5,000 meters at LA 1984 and a fine cross-country runner. Paula Radcliffe, the former world record holder in the Women’s marathon, is part of the commentator team, plus is an ambassador for the Dubai Marathon.
