2026 Millrose Games Ready to Serve A Full Course!

By Jeff Benjamin

For the beginning of 2026, Track Geeks & Fans have been treated to a grand slate of great appetizers as various national and world indoor records have been successfully cracked open (during this writing it’s been learned that Roisin Willis just broke the American record at the 800 meters, clicking 1:57.97 up
In Boston!).

However, the movers and shakers at this Sunday’s Millrose Games may possibly be serving the grandest of meals of records, courtesy of the Nike Armory Track & Field Center!

With fields that have been assembled plying to crack more records fans knowingly signed up pretty quick as ticket sales, according to Armory Co-President Jonathan Schindel, had sold out faster than ever before!

“118 years is a lot of years for the Millrose Games and to win here is the mark of champions,” said Meet Director Ray Flynn, aware of the solid fields competing.

And what is exactly the main course?

How’s about –

1) A loaded Men’s 800, without new World Record Holder Josh Hoey yet reinforced with Donovan Brazier, Bryce Hoppel & fellow 1:42 Irish runner Cian McPhillips!

2) Speaking of 1:42 one must also be wondering what High School Sensation Cooper Lutkenhause (who raced a 1:45.23 for the 800 meters last week at the Armory) can do in the 600 meters!

3) In the Women’s Wanamaker Mile star athletes Dorcus Ewoi, Jessica Hull, Nikki Hiltz , U.S. Outdoor Miler record holder Sinclair Johnson are all ready to do battle. Don’t forget Elle St. Purrier, who’s in the comeback trail and has won here before!

4) Let’s also not forget newly-crowned world record holder Hobbs Kessler, who won last week’s New Balance 2000 meters (4:49.48) with Grant Fisher (4:49.48) right behind him! Kessler is in the Wanamaker Mile taking on 3-time Wanamaker Champ & former World Record Holder Yared Nuguse!

5) And finally a really loaded Men’s 2-Mile,
Replete with four global outdoor champions competing – Josh Kerr, Jake Wightman, Cole Hocker and Geordie Beamish. American Cole Hocker, no doubt hungry after losing his American 2000 indoor record in a matter of days to Hobbs Kessler, always seems to come to win as well.

More events are loaded as well as this is just a limited menu, but Armory and NBC TV fans will know doubt be served a full course this upcoming Sunday!

Bon Appétit !!!
