1. The RAK half-marathon has 11,000 runners race on Al Marjan Island today, with Geoffrey Kamworer running 58:13, winning for the second time at RAK (she won in 2013). Asmerach Anley ran 67:22 for the half-marathon in her debut!

4. Three flights, heading home, 26 hours of flying coming up! Just finished Dubai to Munich. Sitting in Lufthansa club, writing, and next is ten hours, Dubai to Chicago.
5. As I was heading to the airport, was able to watch ASICS Sound Running highlights!
6. Congrats to Cole Hocker, who now has the American record for the mile at 3;45.94! Cooper Teare, Cole’s training partner and buddy, was second in 3:50.49. Sam Ruthe, the sixteen year old Wunderkid, was 7th in 3:52.46!

Cole missed the WR by a tiny bit, as Jakob Ingebrigtsen has number 1 time at WR 3:45.14!
7. Cooper Lutkenhaus ran 1:44.03 and won, his third victory as a NIKE pro athlete, and the World U20 World record short track (indoors), also at the ASICS Sound running invite!

8. Elle St. Pierre won the BU mile in 4:17.00, and set, en route AR indoor of 3:59.33 for 1,500 meters! Well done Elle! thanks to Coach Mark Coogan on that one!

Larry Eder has had a 52-year involvement in the sport of athletics. Larry has experienced the sport as an athlete, coach, magazine publisher, and now, journalist and blogger. His first article, on Don Bowden, America's first sub-4 minute miler, was published in RW in 1983. Larry has published several magazines on athletics, from American Athletics to the U.S. version of Spikes magazine. He currently manages the content and marketing development of the RunningNetwork, The Shoe Addicts, and RunBlogRun. Of RunBlogRun, his daily pilgrimage with the sport, Larry says: "I have to admit, I love traveling to far away meets, writing about the sport I love, and the athletes I respect, for my readers at runblogrun.com, the most of anything I have ever done, except, maybe running itself."
