The Portland Track Festival is known for its rich history of competitive racing, celebrating hard-fought victories and incredibly deep fields.

The Sunday program of the Portland Track Festival is divided into blocks that progress in speed throughout the day, from the Open Heats to the High Performance Sections to the Hot Window, offering fans the opportunity to attend the portions of the meet they would like to watch.

3:10 PM: Open Heats

4:57 PM: High Performance Heats

6:00 PM: Opening Ceremonies, PDX vs SEA 3000m, Wildwood Running & Stumptown Running High School 1500m Top Sections, and 2nd Fastest Heats of HP 800m, 1500m, and 5000m

7:30 PM: The Hot Window. Top Sections of the 800m, 5000m, and 1500m races. WA Bronze Level competition.

‘The Hot Window’

In the Hot Window sections, 2024 Paris Olympian and 9:07 runner, Marisa Howard, leads the field in the Rose City PT Women’s Steeplechase. In the Rose City PT Men’s Steeplechase, 2023 World Championships Team USA member and 2023 PTF champion Benard Keter headlines against 8:14 man, Anthony Rotich. In the Shamrock Run Fest Women’s 800m, Taiya Shelby enters the Electric forest on the cusp of 2:00, having run 2:00.02 earlier this season. In the Prosper Portland Men’s 800m, 2-time PTF 1500m champion, Craig Engels steps to the line against 1:44 men, Alex Amankwah and Shane Cohen.

In the DSC Dreamcell Women’s 5000m, 2024 1500m Olympian and 2-time World Indoor medalist, Emily Mackay, is slated to race with her Union Athletics Club teammate, Roisin Flanagan. They’ll compete with last year’s PTF 10,000m champion, Abby Nichols.

The 1500m are always the pinnacle events at the Portland Track Festival, which is why they close out the Hot Window section. In the Nike Running Women’s 1500m, 3:58 Italian runner, Sintayehu Vissa, will face off against USATF Indoor Championships 3rd placer, Lindsey Butler, NCAA Championships silver medalist, Salma Elbadra, and 9:20 steeplechaser, Angelina Ellis.

In the Nike Running Men’s 1500m, 2022 World Championships 6th placer and 3:30 runner, Mario Garcia Romo, competes with 1:44 Kenyan 800m runner, Noah Kibet, Australian 13:00 5000m runner, Morgan McDonald, and 3:33 man, John Reniewicki.

The live stream for the Portland Track Festival can be accessed at TRACKLND.com and is free to watch by anyone in the world. The Portland Track Festival can be viewed on the Tracklandia YouTube channel as well as on USATF.tv (paid subscription) and the Hot Window can be seen on TV in Portland on the Rose City SportsNet.

Thanks to our partners, Portland Track is providing an initial purse of $25,000 spread across 11 events and is allowing fans to ‘Sweeten the Pot’ by adding to the race purses at TRACKLND.com.

In-person tickets for Sunday are $15 and are available now at portlandtrack.com. Ages 18 and under will have free entry into the meet.
