CHULA VISTA (USA): Olympic shot put champion Ryan Crouser believes Randy Barnes’ world record of 23.12m will be broken before 2020, informs IAAF. “I think it will happen before 2020. We are such a young group and with four more years at least one of us should be over 23 metres. In fact, I think it is possible there could be multiple athletes over 23 metres. There is still a little way to go but with three guys pushing each other, that’s when we could see those performances over 23 metres. And 23.12m,” he said.

It was the end of the era for Tomaz Majewski, 2008 and 2012 champion, and beginning of battles for Ryan Crouser, Joe Kovacs and a new impetus for David Storl, among others. Crouser is fun to watch, emotional, and poised. From a family of fine throwers, the gene pool for competition helps him. Can he break the World Record? Many have tried. It will be sure fun to watch!
