Farah speaks
ADDIS ABABA (ETH): World and Olympic gold medalist Mo Farah has described Donald Trump’s ban on immigrants from seven Muslim majority countries including his nation of birth of Somalia as “incredibly divisive and discriminatory,” informs Sky Sports News. Farah is currently training at high altitude in Ethiopia and he was left unclear as to whether he would be allowed to return home to Oregon after Trump signed the Executive Order. However, the British Foreign Office later clarified the situation and said British nationals are exempt from Trump’s order. “Mo is relieved that he will be able to return to his family once his current training camp concludes, however, as he said in his earlier statement, he still fundamentally disagrees with this incredibly divisive and discriminatory policy,” read a statement. Farah will travel back to the United States after racing in the Birmingham Indoor Grand Prix on 18 February.

RunBlogRun opines: The executive order by President Trump has been recieved in the United States, and around the world with much fear, disappointment and disgust. My thoughts are as follows: this is not what America stands for. We must, of course protect our country from possible terrorism. But this type of action reminds anyone who remembers history with something done in a fascist country.
