The pressers prior to events run by British Athletics are some of the finest around the world. This one was another fine presser. Emceed by Goeff Wightman, the thirty-five to forty-five minute presser features Aries Merritt, Eliane Thompson and Mo Farah.
Light-hearted, the emcee reached to Aries Merritt on his recovering from two surgeries, his amazing year in 2016 and his renewed focus and excitement for 2017 and beyond. With Elaine Thompson, newly crowned 100 meter and 200 meter Olympic champion, Geoff helped Elaine (she needed little assistance) to speak of her enjoyment of running, the newness of indoor racing and her enjoyment of being the top woman sprinter in the world. With Mo Farah, it was a bit of a farewell. Mo Farah noted that London 2017 will be his last big track races, meaning very little chance of racing in Birmingham 2018 World Indoor Champs. Mo Farah was thoughtful and noted on several occassions that he is looking forward to his move to the roads. He wants to end in World Champs in London as a champion once again, that was for sure.
The news on crisis at Arsenal was commented on by Mo Farah and both Aries Merritt and Mo Farah were asked a question on the 45th President of the United States.
