We are in the London Media Center. Waking up around six am, we headed from the Guoman Tower, to the Media bus. An escorted ride to the Media tent at the Finish line is about twenty minutes. No one on the streets of London, the only day you would find the city like that.
Here are some final thoughts before the 37th London Marathon.
The men’s and women’s races are races. This is not professional wrestling. On the men’s side, Kenenisa Bekele is ’90 percent’, dealing with some calf issues. But make no bones about it, Kenenisa Bekele wants to set the World Record. He knows no one has held WRs at 5000 meters, 10,000 meters and the marathon.
Abel Kirui, the two time World Champion, is driven. He wants this race very badly, because he wants to make his third World Championships team.
Bedan Karoki is running his debut at London. He has trained well, and could take the entire thing.
On the women’s side.
If Mary Keitany wins, this will be her sixth win over a World Marathon Major. I think she will run 2:16:30, so lets see how she rolls.
Tirunesh Dibaba will run under 2:20 big time. Look for Tirunesh to run 2:18.
