The 2017 Virgin Money London Marathon was amazing. Mary Keitany, Tirunesh Dibaba took women’s running to a new place, and Daniel Wanjiru was a fun new winner. Hugh Brasher speaking on the continued success of the London Marathon makes this my favorite April 2017 moment.
The post race pressers at the Virgin Money London Marathon are pretty good most years, but the final presser was exceptional.
This year, Mary Keitany, Daniel Wanjiru, David Weir and Hugh Brasher, with the interviews from Tim Hutchings, were in a talkative mood. The discussion went from fitness for young Brits to the amazing day of marathoning on Sunday.
I have to agree. Yesterday’s 2017 Virgin Money London Marathon may have been the best all around series of races in twenty years! Hugh Brasher, the Event Director spoke how this race brought all of the inspiration and creativity of the event together in one year. He hailed David Bedford on putting together the finest women’s field of all times.
