2017 London Diary: An excellent summer for Justin Gatlin

Justin Gatlin may have surprised a few people in the stands in Sacramento, when he ran the 100 meter final at the USATF Outdoor Champs in June, and won from Christian Coleman. As I noted to the BBC Live 5 Radio the next morning, Justin Gatlin was a veteran and used those skills to win the 100 meters.

Justin Gatlin has a busy week, with wins at @gyulaimemorial and @athletissima! #runblogrun, #caltrack, #runningjournal1, #morunandtri, #runohio, #usatfne, #coloradorunnermag, #trackandfieldnews, #runningnetwork, #youthrunner, #athleticsweekly, #hawaiisportsmag, #outdoorsnw, #outtheremonthly, #belgrade2017, #britathletics, #europeanathletics, #athleticsweekly, #americantrackandfield, #atfathlete, #coachingathleticsq, #theshoeaddicts,

Justin Gatlin has over a decade of experience racing big races. His prowess over 100 meters continues. In the big championships, life experence plays a huge part in the success or failure. Remember Kim Collins nearly steal the final of the 100 meters in Daegu, South Korea? That was eight years after Kim’s win at Paris France in 2003 World Championships.

The men’s 100 meters will be an amazing race in London 2017. The men’s finals are always a big story, and this year, it could be one of Usain Bolt’s last individual race at at World Championships. We wish him luck. Obviously Andre De Grasse, Christian Coleman, Chris Belcher, and many others will play a part in the men’s 100 meters.

We will all know when the semi finals are done, and nine men line up for the Men’s 100 meter final for London 2017. And we believe that Justin Gatlin should be there and he will be in the medal hunt.
