Mo finished third in the 2011 version of the BBC Sports Personality of Year. Since then, especially in years like 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, Mo Farah not only did not win in the following years. The last time a track athlete won? You have to go back to Dame Kelly Holmes in 2004, after her 800m/1500m wins in Athens. The last time a male track athlete won? Remember that triple jumper Jonathan Edwards? Yep! After his WRs in Goteborg in 1995, Jonathan was last British male athletics star to win BBC Sports Personality of Year.

Mo was not there. He was watching his four kids, one dealing with a bout of vomiting, as his wife is back in Portland packing up their boxes as they complete the move back from Portland to London. But Mo, with his daughter Rhianna watching the sick Hussein right there, did a live interview from St. Mary’s University in Twickenham right after the upset award!
Congrats to Mo Farah! An award well earned.
