LA BIG 5K SELLS OUTS AS THOUSANDS PREPARE TO RUN DODGER STADIUM

Annual event offers athletes of all ages a chance to be part of Marathon Week

LOS ANGELES (March 15, 2018) – On March 17, the day before the Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon and weeks before opening day at Chavez Ravine, runners, walkers and fitness enthusiasts of all ages and abilities will take part in the 2018 LA BIG 5K at Dodger Stadium. The family-friendly event, organized by Conqur Endurance Group, features beautiful views of Los Angeles as the course takes participants from Dodger Stadium through Elysian Park before a rewarding finish set against the backdrop of iconic Dodger Stadium.

“We couldn’t ask for a better setting to continue our marathon week activities with the running of the LA BIG 5K,” said Tracey Russell, Chief Executive of Conqur Endurance Group. “The LA BIG 5K is a great event for the whole family and has become a staple on many athletes’ spring calendars. This year, a new spinning Double Play bonus medal will be awarded to those who participate in the 5k on Saturday and the marathon on Sunday,” explains Russell. “We truly appreciate our partnership with BIG 5 Sporting Goods and their continued support of this fantastic event that involves many charities raising key funds for their respective causes.”

“Big 5 Sporting Goods is proud to be back as the title sponsor of the LA BIG 5K,” said Rick Gridley, Director of Public Affairs for Big 5 Sporting Goods. “The LA BIG 5K is a great community event bringing runners, walkers and fitness enthusiasts of all levels together to enjoy the beautiful sights of Dodger Stadium.”

LA BIG 5K is the final leg in the special running series, the Triple 5K Tour of LA, consisting of the Santa Monica Classic 5K, the Pasadena 5K at the Rose Bowl and the LA BIG 5K, earning series’ participants a unique medal with design elements from all three events.

The LA Big 5k is sold out this year ahead of the event. Few registrations remain in the LA 1/2K Kids Run, which is geared for the younger runners between 3-8 years of age. Participants will receive a T-shirt, bib, a bag filled with goodies from Big 5 Sporting Goods, as well as a medal. If you are interested in signing up your child in the LA 1/2K Kids run, visit www.LABig5K.com.
