adidas launches ambitious poster progam!
June 25, 2008. Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.
adidas wants you to be excited about track & field! So, adidas has developed, along with Shooting Star Media, Inc. (the publishers of seven specialty national and regional track & field and running titles), a series of four track & field posters, to give away to over 750,000 coaches, athletes and enthusiasts. The posters will be inserted into the seven publications owned by Shooting Star Media, Inc. (www.shootingstarmediainc.com), as well as distributed through track meets, summer running and track camps, and specialty running stores during the Summer and Fall of 2008.
The posters will feature Osaka 100m, 200m gold medalist Tyson Gay and Osaka 100m gold and 200 m silver medalist Veronica Campbell, Olympic gold and Helsinki and Osaka gold medalist at 400 meters, Jeremy Wariner as well as Osaka 200 meter gold medalist Allyson Felix, American record holder and Valencia silver medalist Jennifer Stuczynski and World record holder, Olympic and World Champion Yelena Isinbayeva.
“These posters are a wonderful way of elevating the profile of our athletes with our core consumer,” noted Spencer Nel, Head of Track & Field/Running, Global Sports Marketing, adidas International.
” We welcome adidas’ interest in the nearly 1.4 million teenagers who compete in track and field and cross country in the United States, ” noted Group Publisher, Larry Eder. Eder added, ” The posters are compelling and great way to get brand attention from the 14-19 year old crowd.”
Eder noted that research with the nearly 40 other posters that Shooting Star Media, Inc. has produced showed an average lifespan of four years for track posters. ” This is the most ambitious program we have had the pleasure to work with, and it is a great time, with the interest in our sport at an all time high this summer. It is also a great way to create upcoming heroes in our sport!”
The posters will be inserted into American Track & Field, Athletes Only, California Track & Running News, USATF Fast Forward, Missouri Runner, Latinos Corriendo and Coaching Athletics Quarterly, starting with June issues.
Besides exciting images of some of adidas’ most compelling athletes, the posters are promoting a new fan and media website, www.roadstobeijing.com, which was reviewed on www.runblogrun.com last week. The site has videos, blogs, biographical information for adidas athletes in many sports who are headed to Beijing.
If anyone would like a poster, please request them, with your name and address to [email protected]. While supplies last, Shooting Star Media, Inc. and adidas would love to send posters especially to camps, all-comers meets, and local running stores. Send us how many you need and we will do the best to fulfill your needs, while supplies last.
To order posters, please email [email protected]
