Shanghai DL Diary: Omar McLeod against rest of the World

SHANGHAI (CHN): World and Olympic champion at 110 m hurdles Omar McLeod will target a third successive victory when he returns to the Shanghai Diamond League on 12 May. Among his rivals Orlando Ortega, Jamaicans Ronald Levy and Hansle Parchment, World record holder Aries Merritt and 2015 World champion Sergey Shubenkov with best Chinese Xie Wenjun. Women´s 100 m hurdles are headed by World record holder Kendra Harrison. She is going to face tough competition from her country mates. Olympic champion Brianna McNeal (formerly Rollins), the 2008 Olympic champion and world silver medallist, Dawn Harper Nelson, world indoor silver medallist Christina Manning, and Sharika Nelvis, who was fourth in Birmingham. Germany’s European champion Cindy Roleder and Dutchwoman Nadine Visser, the world indoor bronze medallist, will be trying to halt the American train. In the 400 m hurdles Olympic winner Dalilah Muhammad runs with Georganne Moline. Also competing Jamaican high level trio Janieve Russell, Ristananna Tracey and Leah Nugent, plus the two-time African champion Wenda Nel of South Africa and Canadian Sage Watson with European champion and Rio silver winner Sara Petersen.
