Coach Patrick Sang knows the sport as coach and athlete. His unique view allows him to advise many of the finest athletes in the world. One of them is an athlete who has won three London Marathons. Another is an athlete who has won three world half marathon championships and two world cross country championships.

As a steeplechaser, Patrick Sang won the silver medal in 1991Tokyo and 1993 Stuttgart as well as the 1992 Barcelona Olympic silver. Sang had also competed for the University of Texas (Austin, Texas) Longhorns. Sang had a PB of 8:03.41 for the steeplechase, from 1997.

Sang is now know as a fine coach. RunBlogRun published a feature by Cathal Dennehy on Patrick Sang, in 2016. Patrick coaches Eliud Kipchoge and Geoffrey Kamworor, among many others.

Sang shared some time with his super marathoner, Eliud Kipchoge, who won the London Marathon on Sunday, April 22, 2018. The following is a quick interview from Andy Edwards, with Patrick Sang and Sang’s high opinion of Eliud Kipchoge. Eliud Kipchoge has been called the zen master of the marathon. At his first win in London, Eliud spoke on going old school, on training, from racing cross country, then, track, then, move to the roads. Sang has been able to build the runner’s fitness and confidence as they build to battle the finest athletes in the world.

At this time, we are seeing the finest marathoner on the planet. And, as Cathal Dennehy suggested two years ago, the finest marathon coach on the planet.
