A lot of people said that I was not able to throw far at a major adult competition and in a big stadium but I proved the contrary tonight.”

17-year-old Jakob Ingebrigtsen wins the 1500m title as the youngest winner ever from all events; Martinot-Lagarde edges out Shubenkov.

Pryshchepa is the third Amsterdam winner to get the gold also in Berlin after Mekhissi and Stefanidi. Historical three brothers in the 1500 m final and two brothers in the 400 m final. First gold for Switzerland in women 400 m hurdles. First gold for ANA athlete at this championships.

NOTES
Decathlon with Arthur Abele brought 4.72 million TV viewers in German station ARD. Lausa Grauvogel and Mareike Arndt could not run the final 800 m in Berlin in heptathlon due to car accident during their drive from stadium to hotel. It is nothing serious but they were not able to compete and finished their competition. Slovak heptathlete Lucia Vadlejch was lucky to get fourth throw in heptathlon javelin after her foul was reinstated and achieved PB and unlucky in the final 800 m as she was disqualifed for lane violation. German 4×400 m relay Janin Lindenberg, Esther Cremer, Fabienne Kohlmann and Claudia Hoffmann recieved on Friday the gold medals from 2010 European Championships after the Russian disqualification.
