Tortu is back with a win
ROVERETO (ITA, Aug 27): At the 55th Palio CittÃ della Quercia meet (EA Premium) the comeback from injury was a winning one by Filippo Tortu with 10.21 (-1.5) over Hakim Sani Brown 10.28. Another Italian win in high jump as Alessia Trost cleared 192 on count back over Iryna Heraschenko 192. Sprints were marred by head-wind, Orlando Bennett from Jamaica clocked 13.49 (-0.2) hurdles, World champion Tori Bowie 11.42 (-0.4) over Slovenian Maja Mihalinec 11.47 in women 100 m. Stephanie McPherson won the women 400 m in 52.04, in men s race DL winner Akeem Bloomfield only third 45.74 beatan by BahrainÂ´s Abubakar Abbas 45.04 and team-mate Nathon Allen 45.43. European champion 2016 Sara Slott Petersen of Denmark improved her season top mark to win the 400 m hurdles in 54.89 ahead of Jamaican Janieve Russell 55.25 and Canadian Sage Watson 55.76. Kenyan wins in menÂ´s distances. Collins Kipruto 1:44.42 in the 800 m over Jonathan Kitilit 1:45.38 and Michael Kibet 13.11.08 meet record in the 5000 m ahead of Eric Kiptanui 13:11.51 and Australian Pat Tiernan 13:15.01. NorwayÂ´s Hedda Hynne won the 800 m in 2:00.53 over Eunice Sum 2:01.13, US Rebecca Mehra the 1500 m 4:08.14 and Albanian record holder Luiza Gega steeple 9:26.73 over Fancy Cherono 9:31.60 and Genevieve LaCaze-Gregson 9:37.67. In technical events, Henry Frayne from Australia leaped to 811 (+0.8) ahead of Filippo Randazzo 807 PB (+1.3), Ben Broeders 572 pole vault over Claudio Michel Stecchi also 572 outdoor PB. In javelin wins for Edis Matusevicius 82.31 and Liz Gleadle 60.01.
