The New Balance Indoor Grand Prix is the first leg of and the only stop in North America for the World Athletics Indoor Tour.

The World Athletics Indoor Tour is a series of the very best one-day professional indoor track and field competitions in the world. Each season, athletes can score points in selected circuit disciplines. At the conclusion of the tour, the athlete with the most points earns the overall World Athletics Indoor Tour title in the event, with which comes a $20,000 prize, and an automatic entry into the following World Athletics Indoor Championships.

This 2020 World Athletics Indoor Tour consists of:

Jan 25 – New Balance Indoor Grand Prix – Boston, USA
Jan 31 – Indoor Meeting – Karlsruhe, GER
Feb 4 – International PSD Bank Meeting – DÃ¼sseldorf, GER
Feb 8 – ORLEN Copernicus Cup – Torun, POL
Feb 15 – MÃ¼ller Indoor Grand Prix Glasgow – Glasgow, GBR
Feb 19 – Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais – LiÃ©vin, FRA
Feb 21 – Villa de Madrid – Madrid, ESP

Athletes who win the overall title in their disciplines will earn automatic entries to the 2020 World Athletics Indoor Championships, set for March 13-15 in Nanjing, China.

His first article, on Don Bowden, America's first sub-4 minute miler, was published in RW in 1983.
