I loved going to the World Indoor Tour in 2019. I was planning on 2020 World Tour, but my sponsor pulled out last week. C’est la vie. Now, I will cover the meets remotely, via social media, You Tube, and terrestrial TV.

The meeting Karlsruhe was excellent in 2019, I loved the messe hall, the competition, the fans and the announcing! I enjoyed a fine German pretzel, just like the ones I had in St.Lous as a child.

Here’s some big news on the Indoor Meeting Karlsruhe. Karlsrurhe, rrim-logo421x111.png

KARLSRUHE NEWS

KARLSRUHE (GER): The second meet of the World Indoor Tour (sold out) could bring several World leads mainly in distance races. Men´s 800 m with strong Spanish presence Saul Ordonez and Alvaro de Arriba with Moroccan Mostafa Smaili and Swedish Andreas Kramer should get the first sub 1:47 of the year. Women 3000 m could bring sub 8:50 with Ethiopian favorite Fantu Worku. Also men´s 3000 m with Bethwell Birgen winner from Boston also Justs Soget and Bahraini Birhanu Balew will attack 7:40. Women´s 1500 m will have it tough with 4:04.14 WL of Australian Hull but still could attack it with Axumawit Embaye, Winnie Nanyondo and mainly steeple star Beatrice Chepkoech.

KARLSRUHE (GER): Among the biggest stars will be Sam Kendricks, the two-time world champion outdoors who got his season off on the right track at the Cottbus Jumps meeting. “Five-eighty is a great bar for me,” he said, speaking a pre-meet press conference today. “It continues my streak. Now, I don’t know if anyone knows about this – I may be wrong but I don’t think so – but I have the longest streak of consecutive 5.80m meets. So that is always my goal. To jump that standard wherever I go.”

KARLSRUHE (GER): The World Indoor Tour is after World Indoors were postponed the possibility to get highest points into World Rankings during the indoor season 2020. Specially this indoor season which counts for olympic qualification. At the same level are also Area Indoor Championships, but this year will be held only in South America as Asia was cancelled.

KARLSRUHE (GER): Lea Sprunger and Lisanne de Witte will face in the 400 m the Czech newcomer Lada Vondrova. She was improving her personal bests every week at different sprint distances recently and now will show her improved shape in the international clash. They can come close to 52 low.
