The queen of the high jump, Mariya Lasitskene, a women who is championing a new age in Russian athletics, continues to move up the high jump indoor all time list! Check out the video on Mariya’s 2.05m, her new PB.

Lasitskene 205 WL


MOSCOW (RUS, Feb 9): World champion Mariya Lasitskene improved world leading mark in women’s high jump, when she went over her indoor personal best of 205 in third attempt at 29th edition of Russian Winter meeting. London Olympic champion Anna Chicherova was second with 196 over Kristina Koroleva 191. Doha silver medallist Mikhail Akimenko beat Nikita Anishchenkov in countback (both 226). Third Danyil Tsyplakov and fourth Matvey Rudnik (20) went over 223. Another world champion Anzhelika Sidorova won women’s pole vault with 486 ahead of second Irina Ivanova and third Yelizaveta Bondarenko (both 455). In men’s event, European silver medallist Timur Morgunov cleared 586 over Illya Mudrov 555 and Georgiy Gorokhov 545. Vladimir Nikitin clocked new Russian indoor record of 7:39.94 in the men’s 3000m. Konstantin Khlmogorov 1:47.28 and Aleksandra Gulyaeva 2:00.14 topped 800m races. Kristina Makarenko and Dmitriy Lopin sprinted 7.14 and 6.71 respectively in 60m finals. Anastasiya Nikolayeva 8.27 and decathlete Artem Makarenko 7.55 PB were fastest over hurdles. Triple jump former world indoor champion Yekaterina Koneva lost to Valentina Kosolapova 14.00m to 14.08m. Dmitriy Chizhikov was best in men’s field with 16.66m. Artem Primak (7.70m) won only 1cm over Sergey Polyanskiy in men’s long jum, while Veronika Semashko leapt to 644 to win women’s competition. In women’s 400m, Yekaterina Renzhina clocked 52.18 ahead of Antonina Krivoshapka 52.37. Former European indoor champion Yelena Korobkina was fastest over 1500m 4:05.84. Aleksandr Lesnoy 20.19m and Alyona Gordeyeva 17.47m topped shot put competitions.
