The Swedish championships had some top athletes competing well. Mondo was a bit exhausted a day after his 6.00m win in MonacoDL.
UPPSALA (SWE): At the Swedish Championships in Uppsala, Armand Duplantis cleared 5.63m on his first attempt in the pole vault before three unsuccessful tries at 5.81m. Reigning world champion Daniel Stahl produced another highlight with 68.74m in the discus ahead of training partner Simon Pettersson with 64.73m. After leading qualifying with 6.74m, Khaddi Sagnia won the long jump with 6.72m while Thobias Montler recorded a season’s best of 8.15m in the long jump. Angelica Bengtsson cleared 4.71m to win the pole vault title from Lisa Gunnarsson (4.46m) with national record-holder Michaela Meijer third at 4.36m and Erika Kinsey cleared a good 1.95m in the high jump. On the track Andreas Kramer won the 800m in a fast 1:45.53 from Felix Francois in 1:46.96, Moa Hjelmer won titles in both the 200m (23.47, +1.1) and 400m (53.39) and Meraf Bahta followed up her 10,000m title by winning the 5000m in 16:27.13. Also to note: 16-year-old Melwyn Lycke Holm cleared 2.13m to win the high jump title. Felix Svensson won the 200 m in 20.80 (0.0) and Oscar Edlund 400 m hurdles 50.13, Wictor Petersson topped shot 20.60.
