Emily Oren shows the value of supportive coaching. In high school, Emily was not an early adapter to running. But, with good coaching and positive support, Emily saw success and got the bug. At Hillsdale college, Emily had excellent coaching, and developed into the finest athlete in her colleges’ history, leading the team to the college Women’s Track and Field program 2016 Program of the Year. That year, Emily was also the Honda‘s Collegiate Sports Award Women’s Recipient. This is the biggest award in women’s collegiate sports.

Emily has good PBs, with a 5000m at 15:37.47 (2 May 2019), steeplechase PB at 9:40.65 (10 June 2017) and a new 1,500m PB at 4:14.77 (15 August 2020)!

Emily Oren was a refreshing interview. Her positive attitude, her love of the sport, her enthusiasm with the OAC and being coached by Dathan Ritzenhein all showed up in this interview. My take? Emily Oren will be in the battle to make an Olympic team in 2021.
