MIRAMAS (FRA, Jan 22): Fresh World indoor record holder Hugues Fabrice Zango struggled with run-up and achieved the best mark in the last round with 17.05 at the Meeting de Miramas (without spectators). In second attempt Zango got 16.98, other attempts were fouls. So the best mark of the day came from 60 m hurdles as European champion Pascal Martinot-Lagarde clocked WL 7.54 ahead of Wilhelm Belocian 7.57. In women hurdles already in heats WL for Cyrena Samba-Mayela 8.06 but in the finals she false-started and Laura Valette clocked 8.10 PB to win. Women 60 m saw Carolle Zahi getting European lead 7.19 ahead of Orlann Ombissa-Dzangue 7.25. Iran´s Hassan Taftian won the men´s 60 m in 6.68 over Ryan Zeze (in heats 6.69) and Marvin Rene both 6.70. Djilali Bedrani won the 1500 m in 3:41.16 and Alice Finot the women 3000 m in 9:02.63 PB, behind her Sara Benfares French U23 indoor record 9:04.94. Also to note Alexander Ferrando 200 m PB 21.16.
